I need help Doc. I lost Marques Colston for the next six weeks and need help on who to start. My best options are Eddie Royal and Anthony Gonzalez. Help me DOC!

— Branden

Much like you, Branden, I was hit hard by the Colston thumb injury in one of my leagues and am now scrambling to find a replacement. Unfortunately, none of my options is as good as either of yours. I was high on Gonzalez entering the season and remain so even after his lackluster first game. But Royal looked like a superstar on Monday night, catching nine passes for 146 yards and a TD. It's extremely rare that a rookie wide receiver can come out and perform that well in his first game, which makes me think that Royal is the real deal. In the one league in which I was able to pick him up, I'm starting him this week even with Brandon Marshall returning. I'd recommend you do the same.

What up Doc??
I have two problems... Should I start L.J. Smith or Tony Gonzalez this week? I have to start a tight end. And my other issue is that I want to start DeSean Jackson but have Braylon Edwards, Plaxico Burress and Brandon Marshall. What should I do?

— Marc

Well, Marc, at tight end you have to go with the more reliable option in Gonzalez. I know Smith caught a TD last week, but QB Donovan McNabb likes to spread the ball around and doesn't depend too heavily on one target. Gonzalez, meanwhile, will get a ton of passes thrown his way from QB Damon Huard, who doesn't have a very strong arm. Gonzalez is the better bet to put up solid fantasy stats. At WR, I know it's tempting to start Jackson after his six-catch, 106-yard Week One outing, but you have to remember that he's a rookie and likely will be inconsistent from game to game. Plus, like I mentioned earlier, you never know who McNabb is going to throw to in a given game. Your other three receivers are much safer options and should be weekly fantasy starters.
