Is there a Doctor in the house?! I am mulling a trade proposal and need your expertise, sir. While I am currently holding the top spot in my league, I’ve only come away with victories by the skin of my teeth. I am looking for an upgrade at RB and have been offered Steven Jackson and Anthony Gonzalez for Santana Moss and Jamal Lewis. I currently have Calvin Johnson, Eddie Royal and Wes Welker as my other WRs, with a RB corps consisting of Julius Jones and Sammy Morris. With St. Louis looking like the doormat of the league thus far, am I getting good value in the trade? Thank you!

— Phil

Looking at your situation as a whole, Phil, I think you are definitely getting good value in this trade. I know it's not all that enticing to trade for Jackson after his slow start, but remember that he has the potential to be one of the most dominant backs in the league. I wouldn't write him off for '08 just yet. I also like Gonzalez this season and think now is a good time to trade for him. On the other side, I don't expect Moss to keep up his early-season production, so you'd be selling high on him, which is a good idea. And something tells me that Lewis could be in for a long year with the way Cleveland's offense looks. Seeing as how your team is much more in need of RBs than WRs, you may as well give up a decent receiver to get a potential top-notch RB.

I have an offer on the table of Tony Gonzalez to me for Hines Ward. My TE is Anthony Fasano, and my other WRs are Greg Jennings, DeSean Jackson, Chad Ocho Cinco and Antonio Bryant. What is your prescription?

— GK

I don't necessarily know if Gonzalez is going to outproduce Ward the rest of the way, but given the makeup of your roster, why not do this trade? Really, how many weeks are you going to start Ward over Jennings or Ocho Cinco? Probably not many, I would guess. And when those guys are on bye, you can always plug in Jackson, a more-than-viable option. At TE, however, I think you would start Gonzo over Fasano on a weekly basis, so this deal seems like a nice one for you. I think Gonzalez and Ward will produce pretty evenly this season, so pull the trigger on this trade and give your team a big upgrade at a position where you really need one.
