Doc,
How worried should I be about the Cleveland offense since I have both Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards? I feel a little desperate. I would rather hold on to Winslow and trade Edwards, which I have actively been trying to do. No one will give a frontline receiver for Edwards. Should I look to take less, like a T.J. Houshmanzadeh or Calvin Johnson? Or should I just hold on? I don't like the way the Browns' offense looks at all, and I don't like their schedule. Will Brady Quinn play soon and will he help?  HELP!!

— Ed

I would definitely be a bit worried, Ed. The fact that the Browns’ offense has now looked bad for four straight weeks gives me the feeling that they’re having real problems that might not be fixed any time soon. QB Derek Anderson has played terribly, and Edwards hasn’t helped matters by dropping a bunch of passes. Winslow is the only guy who’s been halfway decent for them thus far. I’d be shocked if Anderson lasts much longer as the starter, meaning the Brady Quinn era could be upon us soon. Given his inexperience, however, things might get worse before they get better in Cleveland. If you can get a player like Housh or Calvin Johnson in exchange for Edwards, I’d pull the trigger immediately.

Hey Doc,
I have a chance to pick up Jeremy Shockey because of someone's bye-week blues.  My question is, is Shockey going to be OK when he returns from his injury? And will he outperform Tony Gonzalez? Thanks.

— Dy

I would certainly take advantage of this owner’s impatience and pounce on Shockey, Dy. Word is that his surgery was not as serious as originally thought and that he may only miss one more game, so you won’t even have to wait very long to use him. Plus, he’s playing in an up-tempo offensive scheme that emphasizes the pass. With Drew Brees at QB, Shockey is likely to post big receiving numbers on almost a weekly basis. Gonzalez is one of the best at his position, as well, but the Chiefs aren't going to throw anywhere near as much as the Saints do. This makes Shockey, provided he can stay healthy, a good bet to outproduce Gonzalez and finish as a top fantasy tight end.
