I’m in a PPR league and have a deal on the table to trade Michael Turner for Joseph Addai. I currently have Addai. I’m inclined to keep Addai due to the quality of the Indianapolis offense, but Turner’s explosiveness is tempting. I would like to know your thoughts on their value going forward.

Well, Kevin, this looks like a classic case of a guy trying to sell a player high. Yes, Turner has been ridiculous thus far, leading the league in rushing and scoring five TDs, but the reason this fellow owner is trying to trade him away is because he knows Turner's value will never be higher. Meanwhile, Addai's value isn't great at the moment because of his slow start, so this owner is attempting to make a play at Addai before he heats up. Given that you play in a PPR league, I'd recommend sticking with Addai. Turner is basically a nonfactor catching the ball — he has three catches through four games. Also, he's either been extremely good or very bad thus far, which isn't what you're looking for in your top players. Addai, on the other hand, had 41 catches last season and 40 the year before, so he'll definitely contribute in the passing game. Plus, his numbers should get better now that the Colts' O-line is getting healthy. I think you'd be selling Addai short if you do this deal, so I'd stand pat.
Doc,
I am in a league that allows points for return yards. Now, I have been starting Marion Barber and Steve Slaton at my two RB slots, but I just traded for Darren Sproles. Although my regular starters each have favorable matchups this week, should I consider starting Sproles to take advantage of his return yards and potential garbage time against Miami?

I'm not sure how many points your league credits for return yards, but it doesn't seem wise to me to bench either Barber or Slaton this week. I think Barber will see a ton of carries after being largely ignored last week and will have a huge day against the lowly Bengals. Slaton, meanwhile, looks like the real deal both running and catching the ball, and he gets a Colts defense that can't stop the run. Even if Houston gets down early, Slaton will still rack up stats in the receiving game. I know Sproles will tally a nice amount of return yards and may even see some late-game carries as you mentioned, but it's too much of a gamble to play him ahead of your other two backs. As long as you have safe options like Barber and Slaton, there's no need to roll the dice this week.
