Harbaugh: Ravens S Reed has a shoulder injury

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that a shoulder injury is the reason S Ed Reed has been on the PUP list since the beginning of training camp, The Baltimore Sun reported. The nature of Reed's injury was not disclosed until today.
"It's a strengthening issue and that takes a little bit of time," Harbaugh said, according to the Sun.
Reed, who turns 30 in September, has only missed six career games because of injury, and all in 2005, when he suffered an ankle injury. Widely regarded as one of the most instinctive defensive backs in the game, Reed has 34 interceptions in six NFL seasons.
