Boller to start Baltimore's preseason opener

QB Kyle Boller will start the Ravens' preseason opener vs. the Patriots on Thursday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Monday. Harbaugh cited the six-year veteran's experience as one of the reasons for his decision.
Second-year QB Troy Smith and rookie Joe Flacco also will play vs. New England, with Harbaugh indicating they will see action in the third and fourth quarters.
Boller has had the strongest training camp of the Ravens' quarterbacks to date, but Harbaugh has yet to name a starter for the season opener vs. Cincinnati on Sept. 7.
