Browns TE Kellen Winslow said Thursday that he is willing to play this season under his current contract, which runs through 2009, and that he and the club are talking about a contract extension.
“You can’t focus on the contract," Winslow told reporters Thursday. "I am under contract. I just want to be a Cleveland Brown for a long time, so my agent (Drew Rosenhaus) and the organization are in talks. My job is to just be out here and play football.”
Winslow caught 82 passes for 1,106 yards and five scores last season for Cleveland. He has been plagued by knee problems for most of his pro career and had knee surgery in the offseason, but he participated in club's first full-pads workout on Thursday.
