The Steelers announced that they have signed WR Limas Sweed, their second-round pick (No. 53 overall) to a four-year contract, ensuring that all of Pittsburgh's 2008 draft picks will be present for the start of training camp Monday.
The 6-foot-4, 212-pounder is expected to fill a role as a complement to starting receivers Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes.
According to PFW's 2008 Draft Preview book, Sweed "does not realize how good he could be and works incredibly hard at his craft. If he continues to make strides in the pros like he did in college, he could be a legitimate No. 1 receiver."
