Report: Texans sign DB Wilson
By PFW staff
Sept. 3, 2008
The Texans have agreed with ex-Patriots and Buccaneers DB Eugene Wilson on a one-year contract, the NFL Network reported Wednesday.
Wilson, 28, had 55 career starts in five seasons with New England. He signed with the Buccaneers in the offseason but was released in the final round of cuts. It is unclear what his role would be with the Texans, but the club is somewhat young at safety behind starters C.C. Brown and Will Demps and could also use a little more help at cornerback. Wilson can play both positions; he has primarily played safety in the pros, but the Buccaneers were playing him at cornerback.
