According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Chargers and DE Luis Castillo have agreed on a contract extension that will make him one of the highest paid defensive ends in the league.
Castillo, who turns 25 in early August, is now locked up with the Chargers through the 2014 season. With this new deal, he'll receive roughly $18 million in guaranteed money.
In three seasons in San Diego, Castillo has compiled 119 total tackles and 13 sacks. He has been hindered by injuries during the last two years, however, playing in only 10 games each in 2006 and '07.
The Chargers are expected to announce Castillo's signing at an afternoon press conference on Tuesday.
