The Chargers have made their final contract offer to first-round pick CB Antoine Cason, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The team and Cason's representatives reportedly are close in their demands, but a certain sticking point in the offer has kept the deal from getting done, and the Chargers don't appear willing to waver on their most recent proposal.
"Antoine and his agent, Ron Slavin, are viewing our offer," GM A.J. Smith said. "When they call us and say they like it, they will be in. If they don't like it, they will stay away. They are both making a big business decision right now. Talks have been great; (the) relationship is great. I hope things work out. If not, we will be disappointed and move on."
Cason, the 27th overall pick in April's draft, is the only San Diego draft choice not under contract. He officially became a holdout Monday when he wasn't present at the team's opening of training camp.
