Lions’ Sims to have MRI on knee as precaution

By PFW staff
July 28, 2008

The knee injury to Lions LB Ernie Sims, perhaps the team’s best player, is not considered serious, but he will undergo an MRI just to be safe.

Originally, Sims was not scheduled to have the MRI performed after injuring his knee during practice on Sunday, but team physician Kyle Anderson wanted to play it safe and be sure there was no significant damage Monday morning.

The Lions think Sims might be able to return to practice in a day or two. Head coach Rod Marinelli did not appear to be concerned this morning when asked about Sims’ injury.
