Ex-Viking Darrion Scott pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor on Monday for child endangerment for putting a plastic bag over his 2-year-old son's head.
Now that Scott, who said he had no intent to injure the boy, has pleaded guilty, the other charges are expected to be dropped when he is sentenced July 24. He faces a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $3,000 fine. He also had been charged with two felonies — domestic assault by strangulation and third-degree assault.
Scott, who played 48 games for the Vikings at both defensive tackle and end after being drafted by the team in the third round of the 2004 draft, is a free agent.
