The Panthers signed LB Dan Connor, a third-round pick out of Penn State, to a contract, the team confirmed Thursday. Terms of the agreement were not available.

In Pro Football Weekly's 2008 Draft Preview book, PFW draft analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Connor, Penn State’s all-time leading tackler and the Chuck Bednarik award winner in ’07, is able to filter through traffic and is a physical tackler that plays with intensity, but his lack of bulk could force him back to the outside after playing in the middle during his senior year. He plays smart and always seems to be around the ball, which should serve him well as he prepares to contribute on special teams this season.
