The Saints’ defensive line suffered a setback Wednesday when DT Hollis Thomas sustained a right triceps injury that will keep him off the field for two months.
Head coach Sean Payton said the injury happened during drills on Wednesday against the Texans and Thomas had surgery Thursday morning.
Thomas had been a major contributor since joining New Orleans before the 2006 season. He started 26 games over the past two years and was competing to keep his spot in the rotation during camp.
