Saints WR Marques Colston burst onto the NFL season in 2006 with one of the greatest rookie seasons a seventh-round pick has ever had. After an even better ’07 campaign, the Saints decided to reward the revelation out of Hofstra, inking him to a three-year contract extension, ESPN’s John Clayton reported on Wednesday.
Colston was entering the final year of his three-year rookie deal, due to pay him $445,000. The terms of his new contract have not yet been made available.
Colston has amassed 2,240 yards and 19 touchdowns in his two NFL seasons, establishing himself as Drew Brees’ favorite target for a potent Saints offense.
