Seahawks rookie DT Bryant needs knee surgery

The Seahawks announced today that fourth-round DE Red Bryant will be undergoing knee surgery and will miss at least the next month.
Bryant, the future son-in-law of legendary Seahawk Jacob Green, had been making his presence very much felt in training camp, following in the footsteps of second-year DT Brandon Mebane, who showed surprisingly strong all-around skills as a rookie last season.
As recently as this Tuesday, Seahawks starting OLG Mike Wahle went out of his way to praise the Texas A&M product for consistently making plays and excelling in full-contact drills.
Seattle's D-line is a bit beaten up at the moment. DE Patrick Kerney has been sidelined with a calf injury, and veteran backups Larry Tripplett and Chris Cooper missed the team's Friday-morning practice due to injury.
