Seahawks C Gray retires

Seahawks C Chris Gray, a 15-year veteran, announced he’s retiring Monday, according to a Tacoma News Tribune report.

Gray said doctors told him it was time to retire because of a low-back spine injury. The report states Gray was informed that he would be risking paralysis by continuing his career.

He has started all but one regular-season game for Seattle since 2000. Before joining the Seahawks in 1998, Gray spent four seasons with the Dolphins and one with the Bears.
